PERSONAL-E MAILBOX (TM) Software V1.0
Personal-E Mailbox is the FIRST and ONLY
background resident (TSR) software program that delivers
the PC user automated person-to-person, send and receive
electronic mail capability over ordinary phone lines using
a 2400 modem, while correctly "soft switching" voice
callers to the common voice answering machine on the same
line, without requiring the purchase of any additional
hardware such as expensive communication cards or
switchers.
Normal ringing and person or machine answering on main
phone or extension without "modem squawk" are unique
features of Personal-E's voice caller-friendly interface.
Working with an ordinary low cost tape answering
machine, Personal-E delivers nearly universal connectivity
point-to-point and unattended voice and e-mail answering
for the shareware price of $29.00 which includes a FREE
GIFT COPY sent in the registrant's name by AmerCom to a
communication partner of the registering user's choice.
The Registration and FREE GIFT COPY FORM can be
printed out at the end of this file or when exiting the
program.
The program is so simple to use that untrained
children have sent Personal-E mail just by following the
on-screen menu directions. Thus the on-disk manual (open
readme.doc) has been written, not to explain difficult
software operations, but to explore hundreds of possible
Personal-E applications designed to make money for
businesses of all kinds and save communications dollars
for families while increasing both customer and personal
connectivity.
Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the interface.
Personal-E Mailbox is a very powerful program that can:
. turn any PC into a personal private HUB for store
and forward messaging
. provide Broadcast pickup and Remote Polling for
public applications
. provide multiple Password access for security
. create a no-cost LAN for workgroups connecting both
publicly and privately
. export message files to a word processor or DBMS for
automatic processing of customer inquiries, market
research or political issue poll reports
. work in the background under Microsoft (R) Windows
(TM) or DOS as a TSR
. save homes and offices hundreds of dollars in FAX,
long distance phone charges, and remote mainframe e-mail
subscription fees
. run from a floppy only in Public-E Mailboxes (TM),
or PCMCIA card or in ROM on portable communicators.
. mainstream speech or hearing impaired Americans with
autoCHAT detect and connect with voice and e-mail on the
same line with TDDs
If you never read the manual, the on-screen directions
will tell you at a glance how to use all of Personal-E's
basic electronic mail functions. But if you do read the
manual, you'll find out about some pretty neat ideas.
For example, you'll learn about AmerCom's GOOD
CONNECTIONS PROGRAM and how corporations can give copies
of Personal-E to deaf children for free under our
commercial registration matching plan.
Last but far from least is our ELECTRONIC DEMOCRACY
PROGRAM. The use of AmerCom Public-E Mailbox (TM) in
schools and libraries is discussed as a practical means to
implement real time electronic messaging to public
servants without penalty for citizens who don't own or
can't afford personal computers.
In this regard AmerCom donates Personal-E to the
offices of senators and congressmen and women and has
public school and public library matching programs. The
average cost of a long distance Personal-E message
transfer to Washington, D.C. from anywhere in the US is
about 17 cents in common phone charges.
There are no hidden costs, network or subscription
fees with Personal-E. You buy the software, you pay your
phone bill. Period. But don't be carried away by all the
money and stamps you'll save...or powerful business
applications.
Personal-E is also just good for zapping out a quick
love note to a friend across the country or down the hall
on an office extension. And it's always private,
person-to-person.
So try it. Register one copy and get one free while
you let the GOOD CONNECTIONS ROLL OUT to everyone you
know.
Yours and thanks,
From AmerCom, the first name in Personal
Connectivity Software.
